About Me

My name is Pasath Samaraweera. I was born in 1991. I have a great desire to make movies and animations since I was a child.

In year 2002 I learned about digital graphics by self studying when I was twelve. After that I learned about basic sense of 3D animation from guidance of a master. Then I increase that knowledge by self studying and I began to create 3D animations.

After created my experimental simple 3D animations, I was created my first animation ‘The Ghost Dancers’ in 2004. It was a music video. After that I created another music video animation as before one. In 2004 I tried to create an animated short feature film, ‘Dewlo Gamana ’ from a folk tale of Sri Lanka. But unfortunately that animation was stopped for some insistent reasons. I done a half of it when it was stopped. During those years I created and contributed for documentary films, event videos and music videos.

In 2007 my animated short film ‘Pancha’s Kite’ was won the 2nd place on the cartoon competition held on Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.

In 2008 I worked together with Sri Mama (Srikhantha Wirakkody - Owner of Voices Of pets).I visualized his songs by 3D animation (Singithi Lowata Geetha Katha). Five songs were included to that. This is the first animated music album and the animated concert of Sri Lanka.

I was created 3D graphics for episode novel ‘Sakwala Mithuran’ published on  Wijjaya Newspaper during 2008 – 2010.

From the beginning year 2004 to now I had created more than 100 creations. Still I have my childhood dream to create animations and movies. My objective is to uplift the film industry in Sri Lanka. I am trying to go for that!
